I just wanted to thank you all so much for taking care of our little Stanley and Stella over the recent Passover holiday. The Loved Dog is by far the most professional, attentive and most importantly caring doggie day care facility we have ever used for our dogs. As dog "parents", our goal is to make sure they are given the best care when we are out of town and you have by far surpassed this goal for us. We know that our dogs are in excellent hands when they stay with you!

Thanks again!

Thank you for another wonderful class! I am overjoyed at the amazing connection your method has created between me and Annie in just 3 classes!

Okay - so I'd like to believe that my puppy (he's about 1 year and 9 mos. - for a large dog, that's still a puppy) loves me best, but I'm not sure seeing how quickly he runs into the Loved Dog and how happy he is to see all the people who work there and all dogs with whom he plays. That being said, I know my old man (he's a more than 13 year old cocker spaniel) is madly in love with me - well, at least until he sees one of the receptionists, who is his human girlfriend. What can I say? I'm bitter - they're so happy that I'm not that necessary. No, really, the Loved Dog makes my life easier - its close to my work; both of my dogs run from the car to the door (even though the old man would rather be left at home); when I need to leave them in an emergency, I feel comfortable (and believe, me, I'm rather ... well ... not as neurotic as the old man, but, neurotic enough to worry about them); when I recently broke my foot (in 3 places), after a day of play, they delivered the puppy to my door (and, gratefully, the guys on the main floor had ensured that he was exhausted). Moreover, during office hours, someone always answers the phone (and is very response when they do!). So, if you come to visit, look for a shaggy black dog with a wonky walk, wrestling on the floor with any dog willing to wrestle. Not far from him you'll see a pretty buff cocker spaniel (nearly white in his old age with a full tail), making sure the puppy is still there (and, until I drag the puppy out of there - he'll still be there).

Hello Laura:
Blackberry was totally wiped out when I picked her up and was tired for a couple of days after that which was awesome. It seemed like she didn't eat enough as she looked a bit skinnier and felt a little bit lighter but she was eating 100% fine upon getting home and has returned to a normal (for her) size. I also noticed that she seems to be a bit more calm in general now since her stay at TLD and now actually lets people pet her instead of always initiating a game whenever a hand approaches her, I am wondering if it was from the environment there rubbing off on her and seeing how other dogs act and hopefully getting petted and enjoying it. I am still working on obedience training with her which is very difficult. Next time I go out of town and do not bring Blackberry I am confident that she will be in excellent hands at your place and I know she will have a great time.
Truly,
Jordan

WE LOVE!!! love !! The Loved Dog

I've leaving both of my dogs at the Loved Dog for about 2 years now and never had a problem. As a matter fact my small dog always gets stressed on car drives but when I tell her that we are going to the "Dog Park" or "Day Care" she stops shaking and panting. She gets excited when we arrive at daycare as well as the park.

If I were a dog, I would want to hang out here!!!

My son, Jack and I, happened upon this canine gem last spring. He was needing community service hours for his school. We met the manager, and many of the employees there. We went there for three days, during different times of the day. Each time, we saw happy dogs, and happy workers. We loved it there. I spoke to the receptionist each time I was there as my son vanished upstairs to care for the smaller dogs. They knew all of the dogs by name, knew what they liked and I saw for myself through the window, many dogs happily playing whilst caregivers doled out the love and praise. These dogs are loved. I have two dogs myself, and assure you that when I go on vacation, it's the loved dog for them. This place is spotless. No sooner did a dog eliminate, then it was cleaned up. The staff to dog ratio was quite impressive. Plus, they groom dogs, they sell great dog food (that my dogs devoured), and the space is huge. There is ample room for dogs to be dogs, and run and play. I was and am very impressed with the facility, and the staff. Way to go, The Loved Dog.

You know what is so great about The Loved Dog? They actually LOVE our dogs!

My dogs stay overnight when I travel on business or go on longer vacations, and every time I go to The Loved Dog, I have an interaction with the staff that makes me smile.

  • Once, I was dropping them off early in the morning, and the overnight staffer (whom I had never met) was leaving… he walked over to my car, reached in to pet them and said “Hi -- they are my two favorites! Hi Bo, Hi Colby! See you guys in a few days” and they wagged their tails and gave him some love in return. He didn’t need to come say anything to me – his car was in the opposite direction. But my dogs clearly adored him.
  • Another time, I picked them up at night and a staffer walked out two minutes after us. She came over to tell me how much she loves my dogs, and the funny things they do while at LD. Bobo loved this girl, for sure – he looked at her with pure joy as she petted him.
  • But my favorite was about a year ago, I was on vacation in Mexico. My B’Berry was ringing and caller ID said Loved Dog. I panicked, but it was sweet, the awesome receptionist told me nothing was wrong, she just wanted to tell me my dogs were napping together in a corner, and it was such a cute scene, she felt compelled to tell me about it. Are you kidding? She took the time to tell me how cute my dogs are? Awesome!

I’d had a very bad experience at a very posh dog place in Hollywood, where my dogs were severely mistreated TWICE, and frankly, so was I because I am not a celebrity (like their other clients). My good friend recommended The Loved Dog because she has been a client for a long time, and her dog loves it.

I made the switch – and what a treat! My dogs had nicknames (“the bears”) within their first 3 visits, and now when I call to book an overnight, I use their nicknames – it’s funny! The Manager and the staff rock, and are utterly capable and on top of everything. And the dog handlers are my heroes – they are loving, gentle, engaged and mellow.

I cannot imagine taking them anywhere else. The Loved Dog is just another home to them.

I cried the first time I had to leave Sammy overnight.....10 years later, I cannot imagine my life without THE LOVED DOG. My dog has a troubled past. Abused and abandoned before I got him, he does not trust easily and is also allergic to pretty much everything. That did not scare away THE LOVED DOG. They were patient with him and when he was ready, they showered him with love. The staff is great. Aside from loving our 4 legged friends, they are smart and take pride in providing excellent care. When I am out of town, there is no place I trust more with my dog than THE LOVED DOG.

I have NEVER left my 11 year old precious dog ANYWHERE. Well, an opportunity arose to have a first class, all expense paid trip to the Virgin Islands and, I HAD to go! So, I set about shopping for doggy care, and what I saw made me heartsick...the saddest places, with dogs lying in corners alone, waiting for their parents to come and get them...I wasn’t going on the trip - no way. Then, I remember seeing this HUGE warehouse on Sepulveda and, thought, 'well, at least it's bigger than all the others...", so I pulled over and went in unannounced. The difference was noticeable immediately - first, it was loud, we're talking happy barking, fun chasing, crazy loud - these dogs were having a ball! Next, I met the staff, a bunch of mushy love muffins who know how lucky they are to call this their job...decision made. My dog went to the upper unit for the more timid dogs (yes, they have a quiet section too!) and he was fine. They also never complained about my frequent email check - in's, always giving kind and HONEST assessments about how he was adapting - pretty well for a old, pampered Mama's boy. I wouldn’t go anywhere else, and, I wish I could tell those other owners who left their angels at the bad places, that they were being lied to about them interacting and playing with their dogs...this place is the REAL DEAL!! Thanks guys!

Alison & "Louie"

I feel so lucky to have The Loved Dog as my doggie daycare. Louie starts getting excited as soon as we turn the corner and he can see the building. I think the staff is almost as excited as he is when he shows up - I feel like they love him as much as I do. The love and care he gets is so wonderful that last time I went on vacation I chose to board him at The Loved Dog instead of the kennel - he had a great time!

For two years now my two Pomeranians are wildly excited to go to the Loved Dog center every single time they go—they come home tired and happy. The staff at the facility are amazing—so consistently professional, courteous, punctual, and warm and playful towards the dogs—I wouldn’t think of taking them anywhere else for daycare or boarding.
